چکیده
Abstract—A comprehensive facet model for bistatic synthetic aperture radar (Bis-SAR) imagery of dynamic ocean scene is presented in this paper. An efficient facet scattering model is developed to calculate the radar cross section (RCS) of the ocean surface for BisSAR firstly. Further more, this facet model is combined with a bistatic velocity bunching (V B) modulation of long ocean waves to obtain the Bis-SAR intensity expression in image plane of ocean scene. The displacement of the scatter elements in the image plane and the degradation of radar resolution in azimuth direction are quantificationally analyzed. Finally, Bis-SAR imagery simulations of ocean surface are illustrated, proving the validity and practicability of the presented algorithms.

Robust Semi-deterministic Facet Model for Fast Estimation on Em Scattering from Ocean-like Surface
A robust semi-deterministic facet model for the computation of the radar scattering cross section from the ocean-like surface is presented. As a facet-based theory, it is a more comprehensive model which can reflect the specular and diffuse configurations, as well as the monoand bistatic features. Significant computational efficiency and good agreement with experimental data are observed, which...

An efficient double superimposition model (DSM) is proposed to generate two-dimensional (2-D) ocean surface waves. On the basis of this efficient model, a modulated slope-deterministic facet model (MSDFM) is developed to compute the radar cross section (RCS) of synthetic aperture radar (SAR) for the generated ocean surface. Then, the properties of the SAR imaging mechanism for wind seas are dis...

Proper design of receiver flight paths allows three-dimensional information to be encoded in sensed bistatic SAR phase history data. The authors show how the flight path taken by the receiving platform determines the resolution of nonparametric scene reconstructions and determines the variance of three-dimensional scattering centre location parameter estimates. Based on these relationships, a b...

Synthetic aperture radar (SAR) allows all-weather, day-and-night surface surveillance and has the ability to detect, classify and geolocate objects at long stand-off ranges. Bistatic SAR, in which the transmitter and the receiver are on separate platforms, is seen as a potential means of countering the vulnerability of conventional monostatic SAR to electronic countermeasures, particularly dire...
متن کاملAntenna motion errors in bistatic SAR imagery
Antenna trajectory or motion errors are pervasive in synthetic aperture radar (SAR) imaging. Motion errors typically result in smearing and positioning errors in SAR images. Understanding the relationship between the trajectory errors and position errors in reconstructed images is essential in forming focused SAR images. Existing studies on the effect of antenna motion errors are limited to cer...
